D.A. Watt Consulting has had a continuous working relationship with Calgarys principal shallow utility providers since the inception of the 4-party URD initiative, over 10 years ago.
The intent of the program is to provide for timely and cost effective one-trench installation of underground power, gas, telephone, cable and streetlighting in all the new residential (and more recently, industrial) subdivisions within the City of Calgary. During our association with ENMAX, ATCO, Telus and Shaw Cable, D. A. Watt Consulting has provided the partners with project management, scheduling, contract administration, civil inspection and survey layout to help them meet their servicing obligations to developers. With the tremendous growth and expansion of the City since the mid-1990’s, we have been called upon to administer the servicing of as many as 8,000 new residential lots per year.
