D.A. Watt Consulting is a strong supporter of the Civil and Geomatics Engineering Technology programs at SAIT. Starting in 2006, we have provided scholarships to assist emerging Engineering Technologists with their school tuition.
Michael Szarmes, CD, P.Eng., Manager of Legal Surveys/Geomatics, also a graduate of SAIT, noted that "The Students that SAIT generates are technically strong individuals with an ambition to make a difference in their chosen careers. Certainly the graduates from these programs who have worked with us excelled in their fields. I feel honoured that D.A. Watt Consulting continues to play a role in the development of this most important resource pool."
Interest in the Civil Engineering Technology program at SAIT Polytechnic continues to be high, as demonstrated by the sheer number of applications for enrolment which increased last year from 369 to 436!
To qualify students need to be entering their 2nd year (3rd semester) of one of the following:
- Geomatics Engineering Technology Program in the Surveying Option
- Civil Engineering Technology Program in the Municipal Option, or
- Civil Engineering Technology Program in the Construction Management Option
D.A. Watt contributes an annual $500 award to each of the Geomatics Engineering and the Civil Engineering Technology programs.
